New York University Tandon School of Engineering -- Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE)
The NYU Tandon Office of Inclusive Excellence promotes Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging, Equity and Accessibility (IDBEA, invites and fosters a wider range of experiences, knowledge, and perspectives to shape a more successful, creative, and innovative institution. This is done through collaborative efforts on campus.
I was one of three graduate assistants working on the OIE's My Brother's Keeper@Tandon, Women@Tandon, and office of inclusion initiatives. I was the lead for Women@Tandon and planned to host interactive workshops, fun-tivities, and panels for the HERstory community. All events were open to NYU Tandon's student population regardless of orientation or identity (all were welcomed).
I helped manage the social media accounts, events, photography, videography, captions/ scripts, data organization, and other assistant tasks as assigned; like decorating.
Governor’s Committee on Scholastic Achievement (GCSA)

Final
This NYC-based non-profit made it its mission to empower youth with a unique opportunity; life-long friendship, workforce shadowing, and the opportunity to pursue college. Many of their volunteer mentors come from leading companies like Google, Spotify, and Deutsche Bank. Their affiliate NYC's high school's aid in students' futures by providing mentorship from industry professionals in various fields.
I worked on their logo rebrand, post recommendations, public outreach, alumni council member, key business and creative insight, social media strategies, and more; creative direction and researching free resources around NYC for non-profits to utilize.
Below, you can explore how I changed their logo to fit their new brand--from a variety of colors chosen, changes made, and the selected final version; highlighted on their Instagram and merchandise.
The Design Process
A variety of seals and colors were sent to me in 2022 for the re-design of GCSA's new logo. The goal was to create a logo that fit GCSA's new brand colors. Below are the images:

This logo was a part of their brand prior to 2022.

A PDF of previously designed logos; desired look for the final product.

Desired color and design.

Administrative suggested color.

Combination of the desired design and color.

Color corrected with new desired color.

Colorized with colors from the thinner outer circle example.

Final design. I had creative freedom when it came to designing, colors, and fonts.
I designed their certificate and stole templates for their annual event celebration. These items were designed for students and alumni to celebrate their completion of their educational program(s), contributions as leaders in community service, or professional growth. Such as high school, university, etc.
The last four images of the certificate design (on the left) are the GCSA certificate seals in black, white, gold, and purple. On the right are various stoles, flags, pennants, and engraved gold honor pins designs for the graduating Class of 2023.

Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP): Concrete Canoe
NYU's Concrete Canoe Team is a part of the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP)--a multi-year and multidisciplinary commitment to a large-scale project that combines education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It is an opportunity to develop valuable skills while contributing to real-world projects and earning academic credit; engaging in continuous learning and professional development.
The NYU Concrete Canoe Team designs, builds, and races a canoe made from concrete in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) annual competition. The team has achieved significant success, including being the first all-rookie team to qualify for nationals and placing eighth overall in the 2023-2024 competition. This year the focus was on sustainability: using innovative materials like zero-cement concrete to reduce environmental impact; winning the race without contributing to waste.
The team aims to innovate concrete technology while promoting teamwork and professional skills among it's diverse students; various majors, student statuses, etc. I worked on graphics, aesthetics, marketing, event management, communications, archival/ organization, and various other miscellaneous tasks like public relations, fundraising, email editing, template, and promotional material.

The Business Aviation Club & The Earth Matters Club
EarthMatters is NYU's oldest and premier environmental and sustainability club. Founded in 1982, it serves as a platform for students interested in environmental issues and sustainability.
The Aviation Club at NYU caters to students passionate about flying and air travel. The club serves as a valuable resource for students looking to explore careers or opportunities in the aviation sector.
I was the graphic chair for Earth Matters, and Director of Marketing - Publicity and Communications for The Aviation Business Club. I worked on marketing, graphic designs, flyers, merchandise, public relations, and event management.

- Initiative Funding Committee
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
- Financial Affairs Committee

Student Association for Applied Studies (NYU SAAS) Club
The Student Association for Applied Studies (SAAS) creates community-based events to promote diversity and inclusivity of all NYU SPS students; regardless of program. Any NYU SPS student could join SAAS as a member or an officer. SAAS officers represent Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies (DAUS) students, NYU faculty, NYU administrators, and the SPS Student Council.
I was the Secretary and Social Media Chair of the SAAS club in the Spring of 2022--contributing to key insights, research, graphics, public relations, and event management.

SPS Undergraduate Student Council & SPS Graduate Student Council (SPS USC & GSC)
The Undergraduate Student Council (USC) is the school's student government for undergraduate and graduate students. Each NYU school has their own government; all president, vice presidents, and senators meet for a collective agreement for the NYU community. The SPS council created community-based events. Such as networking opportunities, career seminars, and school club events to aid in students resources. The goal was to continuing student success, satisfaction, and to contribute to NYU's school spirit. The same goes for the Graduate Student Council (GSC); their audience are graduate students at SPS. The council's mission was to have representatives from all of NYU SPS's various diverse populations; addressing various student conflicts or needs during the year/ chair's commitment dates.
The primary focus was building a community, crafting care for our students, and making the college experience unique to the individual.
I created graphic designs for this council, various committees, various clubs, and the greater NYU community; faculty, staff, and senior management (Deans, Directors, etc.). Many of my roles were interchangeable; despite the various titles I held at the time. I was the Graphic Design Chair, Social Media Manager, script writer, video editor, and much more during my time on the council; see some of my work below. I began my contributions sometime during the Spring 2022 semester throughout the Fall 2023 semester.
I won the Rising Star Award for working on 2022's Spirit Week templates; I only had three days to complete the design for the annual 7-day event celebration. I spent over 24 hours working on more than 300+ designs until the final template, logos, icons, flyers, posts and stories, and QR codes were completed. This project was given 2 - 3 months earlier and was abandoned three days before it was due.
I went above and beyond to deliver everything before the deadline.
Below is the NYU SPS 2023 Global Village Brand Kit I designed for our sponsors, internal senior management, and team.
The Passing the Torch Awards Ceremony is an annual tradition within the Office of Student Life (OSL) at the NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS). Each year the office honors individuals and council committees that worked tirelessly throughout the year; often to enhance the NYU SPS student experience both on and off-campus.
Student Life Awards Nominations:
- Organization of the Year
- Club Rising Star Award
- Club MVP, Outstanding Program/ Event
- Student Leader of the Year Award.
Award winners are celebrated at the Passing The Torch Ceremony in May. On the left are templates and examples of some of the certificates used in 2022 - 2024; created by me.
During my time on the council, I created over 1,000 designs, video edits, script edits, and captions. I worked on various committee needs simultaneously with my own projects and assigned tasks. I always went above and beyond in everything I did. I always triple checked my work to ensure everything was correct, agreed upon (brand), and ready before the deadline.
I also took on projects abandoned by other council chairs; fulfilling a need asked for by the department or council.

I used Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, voice recorders, and various other editing tools to create the following videos; seen above.
Please note that my portfolio highlights some of my contributions; not all of them.
