Contributions & Influence
Student Leadership and Giving Back
I enjoy giving back to my community and non-profit institutions within New York City. Some institutions I regularly volunteer at, attend as a panelist/ workshop professional, or contributor to are the City University of New York Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY BMCC), Urban Arts - Game Studio (UA), Governor's Committee on Scholastic Achievement (GCSA), and New York University (NYU).
Below are some of my work and contributions during my leadership council position. Feel free to reviewed how they continue to positively impact, influence, or inspire NYU's social media presence; note some may come from other departments, students, and intuitions.

Preferred Design - Draft
Collaborative Work
My work and creative direction were edited by my team (seven to ten designers). Then all designs were processed and reviewed by the council (over forty people), and approved by the department (Deans, Directors, etc.)
Other pieces were given to me within less than two hours--for editing, modifying, general fixing, or a flare of creative element. I was often contacted because of my quick edits, attention to details, and style. Some of these designs are available for review below.

NYU SPS Student Council
All designs I was asked to create or edit were done so with small direction and descriptive factors. I often asked the requester to look into a desired color palette, font, font size, and to send inspiring pictures. Though, this was not common.
The SPS Student Council held more than 20 chair members, and the Social Media and Design Committee (SMDC) had seven to ten designers/ social media managers. I was one of the Student Council Social Media Chair and Council members.
I held additional roles and management positions--creating and collaborating on graphic design, video edits, captions, script writing, public statements, public relations, concept designs, design lifestyles, and more. However, the final design draft was often determined democratically or overruled by our lead director.
Some, but no limited to the following, social media accounts have some form of my work/ contributions:

Please note that I no longer have access to certain documents, graphics, or other internal communications.
Here is a template I created to utilized throughout the year; used by committee during weekly updates and expectations for external/ internal communications. This template was copied and used for the next three years.
This version featuring a combination of various presentation content throughout the 2021 - 2024 years. Many edits came from me; like dimensions, QR Codes, and upcoming designs.
During a world and cultural shift, I received a draft that likely would have caused more discourse on-campus. As well as, possibly tarnishing the brand.
I sat down and considered all possible angles; council statements and feedback, on-going cultural shifts and online discourse, the issue at hand, and NYU. I then wrote this on-behalf of my council; emphasizing a neutral tone as the student's well-being is more important than an opinion.
In order to boost mental health and wellness along the community, we pushed various initiatives, affinity spaces, NYU's wellness efforts, and safe/ open discussions where students could reach out for help.
NYU Welcome - Affinity Spaces: Latine/x Students
During NYU Welcome, I had the opportunity to work alongside another student to address Latin and Hispanic identifying students.
We pushed the importance of community, culture, collaborations, events, student life, and seeking assistance to thrive on campus.
I made edits to the presentation, shared valuable insights, and researched this topic to accommodate various departments/ clubs that students may be interested in.

These modified designs were edited to fit various social media dimensions: platforms, monitors, internal and external communications (.png and .jpeg), and their newsletter needs. Both were successful events that many students attended.
The design on the right requested heavy text based elements--which I explained was not useful as it would be overcrowded, preventing the eye from resting (no negative spaces). Instead, I limited the text, added visuals that conveyed the desired message, and wrote what they needed in a caption.
Past Panel Projects
Urban Arts - Game Studio
Alumni Panelists & Workshop
This wix presentation was designed to combine creative thinking with STEM development; created for high school students to evaluate their future portfolios, highlight their endeavors, and to explore desired/ related STEAM career paths. Students were encouraged to add what they currently worked onto their portfolio. In addition to adding any work they enjoy or do in their spare time (fan art, video games, hobbies, etc.)--using what they learn at Urban Arts to fill out their early educational or career portfolios.
The goal was to familiarize and teach design principles on a digital platform; such as, but not limited to, wix studio/ wixsite.
This art design presentation was designed to teach students about digital art and how to transform traditional work into a digital landscape. Students explored design principles, shading, line weight, perspective, animation tricks and tips, creative thinking, and design processes. My work was shown as animation examples: skipping frames, slowing speed rates, and tricking the mind through smudges.
The goal was to inspire students to step out of their creative comfort zones and try new techniques through trial and error.
